JGC were engaged by the principal contractor for this $119m irrigation modernisation project to help identify and manage the statutory approvals. The complex project included approvals in both Victoria and NSW, and involved multiple agencies relating to matters such as vegetation, aquatics, river environs, roads, railways, bridges and land tenure. Time constraints relating to funding and the seasonal irrigation requirements determined the project delivery and associated timelines of the required approvals. All approvals were obtained within the tight timelines and the project was successfully completed in August 2016, delivering 50% more water-saving benefits than originally expected!
